A woman in black is about to deliver alien-kicking action in the next "Men in Black" installation. While the charming combination of Agent K and Agent J remain an iconic one in franchise history, the next film is looking to shaking things up by adding a female agent to the winning formula.

According to a report from BBC News, producer Laurie MacDonald confirmed the presence of a new female lead to add a different flavor to the upcoming sequel.

"There will be a prominent Woman in Black in the fourth [film]," MacDonald affirmed in the interview.

MacDonald is developing the film with husband Walter Parkes, who chimed in to address another nagging fan issue on the absence of franchise star Will Smith. While the actor is reportedly opting out of the film, Parkes teased, "Never count Will out."

He added, "We are quite early on in it. We sort of looked at the first three in retrospect as a bit of trilogy. ... Now we are looking at a reinvention."

Of course, the leading man may be eyeing another career that puts him in a difficult position to commit to the franchise. According to Vibe, during a podcast interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Smith revealed he's contemplating entering the political arena to affect positive change in a different way.

"I'm a climber, so if I see a mountain, I have to climb it," he begins by sharing his character as a man of action. "I'm not a camper; I don't like hanging in one place too long. So I think, at this point, I'm elevating my ability to be useful in the world. I think that that's what my grandmother always hoped, that I would make myself useful to people in this lifetime. I'm working really hard and my storytelling is elevating, my ability to be eloquent with my body and with my voice and to deliver ideas as an actor is elevating."

Smith added, "And, you know, as I look at the political landscape, I think that there might be a future out there for me. They might need me out there. This is the first year that I've been incensed to a level that I can't sleep, you know? So I'm feeling that at some point, in the near future, I will have to lend my voice to the conversation in a somewhat different way."

Meanwhile, his stellar Hollywood career continues to unfold seamlessly with a new movie "Concussion" out in theatres on Christmas Day.
