Former Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is unsure of the possible result of the UFC 194 showdown between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo next month. But GSP believes McGregor is getting into Aldo's head heading into their UFC featherweight title fight.

Aldo and McGregor have been trading verbal jabs since the buildup for their UFC 189 showdown, which was eventually canceled after the defending champion sustained a rib injury in training.

During an interview on Chael Sonnen's You're Welcome podcast, St-Pierre said that the exchange of trash talks over the past several months is affecting Aldo.

"I don't know if I'm right, but it seems like maybe McGregor got into Aldo's head a little bit," St-Pierre said. "I don't know if McGregor can beat Aldo. I guess we'll find out. Aldo is a very smart guy, but Conor McGregor, the way he talks trash, there is a purpose to it."

GSP said that it was similar to what Sonnen did when he faced Anderson Silva at UFC 117 in 2010. Sonnen tried to get into Silva's head with a barrage of verbal taunts. Sonnen managed to push Silva to the limit, but the Brazilian mixed martial arts superstar managed to score a submission win in the fifth round of the bout.

"Most of the guys who have fought Jose Aldo, they've been intimidated," St-Pierre continued. "Aldo has an aura of invincibility. A little bit like Anderson Silva had back in the day before you fought him. I think McGregor is mentally trying to break that aura of invincibility, but we'll see. You need to break it physically, not mentally."

McGregor, who is coming off a second-round knockout victory against Chad Mendes, recently took a swipe at Aldo again. The 27-year-old Irishman said that he is unsure if Aldo will appear at UFC 194, but he insisted that he will be ready whether or not his opponent will be there on fight night.

"I'll be there," McGregor said. "I have made it. I have put myself through an intense training camp. I'm gonna go and enjoy that beach weather, get that Vitamin D and make it to fight night. Who cares if he's there or not, I'll be there. I hope he's there, but I don't know."

The Aldo-McGregor featherweight title fight will be the main event of the UFC 194 fight card that is scheduled on Dec. 12 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
