The search for the legendary Bigfoot has come to California.

Earlier this week, the cast of "Finding Bigfoot" on the Animal Planet traveled to Redding, California, where they spoke to local residents about their encounters with Sasquatch and went on a mission to find the mythical creature in the northern part of the state.

During each episode of the reality series, the Bigfoot hunters travel to a specific location to uncover the truth behind the existence of Bigfoot. The team consists of Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) President Matt Moneymaker, researchers James "Bobo" Fay and Cliff Barackman, and scientist and skeptic Ranae Holland.

After the team picks a Bigfoot hot spot, they interview people who claim to have seen the legendary beast. Then, the researchers set up reenactments of the sighting to try to catch the ape-like creature in action.

Before starting their hunt in The Golden State, the "Finding Bigfoot" crew held a town hall meeting at the Old City Hall in Redding Wednesday night. That's when almost 150 locals heard about 30 people share stories about their personal encounters with the wild beast.

"I saw Big Foot," said Bill Sbarra, according to KRCR News. "I was facing the creature that was very well-built. Probably seven feet tall and it started running on two legs."

Meanwhile, dozens of people shared sightings in the regions of Mt. Shasta and McCloud.

"Up in the Marble Mountains my church group found a Bigfoot nest," said Adehl Williams. "And then up on the ridge they started seeing something walking along the ridge. They filmed it and it's been known since then as the 'Marble Mountain Footage of Bigfoot.'"

According to R.P.G, a Cryptozoologist who has dedicated his career to studying animals whose existence hasn't yet been proven, there is a whole species of Bigfoot.

"I think they're a lost tribe," he said.

"Well we have come to Redding to look into Sasquatch reports because there are are basically a lot of bigfoots in Northern California," said Cliff Barackman, who is the evidence analyst for the show, reports KRCR.
