Oklahoma City superstar Kevin Durant put on a show last Tuesday at the Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks in the 128-122 overtime win. Durant exploded for 44 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and a steal while also making Knicks fans excited in a post-game interview.

The 27-year-old soon-to-be free agent talked to the New York Daily News about his love for New York City and revealing one of his memorable moments happened at Rucker Park in Harlem. Durant famously scored 65 points in a game at the famous basketball park in 2011. However, he insists that he is not thinking about free agency and is focused on the season.

"One of the most memorable times in my life was coming here and playing outside and just getting the pure love of the game up here. And I remember. I'm going to remember that for the rest of my life and tell my kids about that when I'm older. That's something I'll always remember," Durant said.

"I'm just enjoying every single moment. I told myself that before the year. It's easy for me to stray off path and think about the future. But I just try to preach every single day, I pray to myself when I walk on the court, when I get out of bed, to just stay in the moment. And enjoy the moment," he added.

NJ Advance Media Group speculated that the Knicks front office are probably smiling about Durant's recent comments about the city. Many New York basketball fans are excited to see "KD" join Carmelo Anthony and rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis next season. The team-up will immediately transform the Knicks into playoff contenders.

Durant has also expressed his fondness on the seven-foot-three-inch Latvian rookie, who averages 14.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in his first NBA season. In an interview with the Washington Post, the Oklahoma City forward compared Porzingis to a "unicorn" because of his rare skill set that includes athleticism, defensive ability and long-range shooting.

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News noted that Durant's liking of Porzingis can be the key in luring him this summer. He mentioned that Porzingis is a game changer as he is the best talent the Knicks have since Patrick Ewing.

There are also rumors of Durant re-signing for a two-year extension with an opt-out clause after the first year like LeBron James' current deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Durant has also been linked with the Miami Heat and his hometown team of Washington Wizards.
