UFC events held in Brazil will always have the local fighters shining and showcasing their potential. That expectation just happened throughout Saturday's UFC Fight Night 106 event, and the final record for the 13 Brazilian Fighters was 6-6-1.

However, the local fans were still left disappointed at the end of the card, though, when rising star Kelvin Gastelum, who has a record of 14-2 MMA, and 9-2 UFC, continued to thrive in the middleweight division when he defeated UFC legend Vitor Belfort (25-14 MMA, 14-10 UFC) by a convincing first-round TKO in the headlining bout held at the Centro de Formacao Olimpica do Nordeste, Ceara, Brazil.

According to MMA Junkie, it was yet another significant performance for "The Ultimate Fighter 17" winner, and one that culminated a night full of notable feats. After the bout, Gastelum improved to 2-0 ever since moving up to the UFC middleweight division in December; he is now 4-0 in the organization at the 185-pound mark.

Gastelum has also earned 10 of his 14 career victories by stoppage. Belfort, on the other hand, fell to 6-6 in UFC main events.

Belfort has now fallen to 8-5 since he dropped to the middleweight division in September of 2007. Belfort is currently in a three-fight losing skid and is tied for the longest of his 20-plus career.

Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua's (25-10 MMA, 9-8 UFC) three-fight winning streak, on the other hand, is the longest of his 9-year UFC career. Rua's 21 victories in the UFC/PRIDE light-heavyweight division are the most in the combined divisional history.

According to The MMA Way, Rua's 17 total stoppage victories in UFC, PRIDE, WEC, and Strikeforce competitions are tied with Donald Cerrone for third most in combined in organizational history behind Mirko Filipovic, who has 21, and Wanderlei Silva with 20. Additionally, Rua's 16 knockout victories in UFC/PRIDE light heavyweight competition are also the most in combined divisional history.

Rua has been impressive throughout his entire Career, and last night's event has was just one where he showcased his amazing talent. Fight Night 106 was a success and every fighter was able to show their true potential
