Some of the Mexican Billionaires maintained their wealth amid the economic effect of COVID-19 and made it to the world's long list of billionaires according to a recently published article.

Mexico has the second-largest economy in Latin America, and they are one of the leading technology hubs in the region.

It is surprising that these people still had their fortune despite the trade wars between China and the United States or known as the Free Trade Agreement between Mexico, the United States, and Canda.  

Here are now the lists of Mexican billionaires and their world rankings:

1. Carlos Slim

  • He is the richest person in Mexico and his net worth this year is $48.6 billion. He is the 16th wealthiest person in the world.

    2. Ricardo Salinas Pliego and Family

    • The family's net worth is $11.4 billion. The primary source of their fortune is through retail and multimedia businesses. They ranked 128th place in the world.

      3. German Larrea Mota Velasco and Family

      •  The family's net worth is $11.3 billion. The primary source of their fortune is from the mining market. They occupy the 130th place as the wealthiest family in the world.

      4. Alberto Bailleres Gonzalez and Family

      • The family's net worth is $6.1 billion. They are the main shareholder of Grupo Peñoles, Palacio de Hierro, and GNP Seguros. They also have investments in mining. They are the 285th most affluent family in the world.

      5. Maria Asuncion Aramburuzabala and Family

      •  The family's net worth is $5.7 billion. Their source of wealth is through investment in the beer market. They are the 315th most affluent family in the world.

      6. Juan Francisco Beckmann Vidal and Family 

      • The family's net worth is $4.3 billion. Their primary source of wealth is through investments in the tequila sector. They are the 452nd most affluent family in the world.

      7. Jeronimo Arango 

      • Arango, who died recently, has a net worth of $4.3 billion. His primary source of income is through retail sales. He occupies the 457th place as the wealthiest person in the world.

      8. Carlos Hank Rhon 

      • Carlos Hank Rhon has a net worth of $1.9 billion. He is the chairman of the board of Grupo Financiero Interacciones. He placed 1123rd on the world's richest person list.

      9. Roberto Hernández Ramírez 

      • He is the current honorary chairman of the board of Grupo Financiero Citibanamex, and his net worth is $1.8 billion. He is the 1328th richest person in the world. 

      10. Antonio Del Valle Ruiz and family 

      • The family's net worth is $1.6 billion. Their primary source of fortune is from the chemical industry. The family is also the owner of Mexichem. They are the 1425th richest family in the world. 

      These are just 10 of the Mexican billionaires who made it be included in the world's wealthiest persons and families. However, it was observed by Forbes that the long list of Mexican billionaires is thinning. This decline is due in large part to the economic impact of COVID-19.
