The Latina actress and singer made a guest appearance on Today Show where she talked about her decision to indefinitely postpone her wedding to former professional baseball shortstop Alex Rodriguez due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the interview, Jennifer Lopez expressed her disappointment in having to cancel their plans to hold a summer wedding in Italy. The 51-year-old singer said they do not have a specific date when to celebrate their nuptials. 

During the interview, she also claimed: "everything's kinda on hold right now." Lopez revealed she planned to take a break following her controversial and historic Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside fellow Latina singer, Shakira.

According to Us Weekly, the couple had already paid for the entire wedding. Every aspect of the wedding was already planned. Lopez will reportedly marry Rodriguez shortly after things return to normal. The Hustlers star and the former Yankee player got engaged in March 2019. A-Rod proposed while they were on vacation. The emerald-cut diamond engagement ring reportedly cost over $1 million.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Rodriguez said he picked up the hint when JLo released a song titled 'El Anillo' or The Ring. He also joked he "knew he was in trouble" after the Latina finished filming a movie called Marry Me.

According to the Yankee star, the proposal took half a year to plan. He claims he did intend to propose while enjoying the sun and the sand on a beach in the Bahamas. "I had the ring, but what was interesting is the three days prior to me going down on one knee and getting engaged was I rehearsed three days in a row," he added.

A-Rod allegedly asked his assistant to help him plan the whole process-including shopping out the best location and popping the question in time with the sunset.

The power couple, who made their red carpet debut at the 2017 Met Gala, broke the news of their engagement on their social media accounts with photos taken from the proposal. The pair first met each other at a Yankees baseball games when both parties were still married-Lopez was still married to Anthony while Rodriguez was still with Scurtis.

The couple met again after 12 years. According to Rodriguez, the World of Dance judge tapped him on the shoulder and reintroduced herself.

"Someone taps me on the shoulder, and I turn around, and I do not recognize this person," he said during an interview with Ellen Degeneres. "And it took me about four or five seconds. And she said, 'It's Jennifer! It's Jennifer!' I go, 'Oh my God, Jennifer, you look beautiful.'"

The pair engaged in a small talk which ended in Lopez telling him to reach out to her. Rodriguez proceeded to send her a text and ask her out to dinner. They made their relationship Instagram official on May 1 while on the way to the Met Gala.
