Alabama Crimson Tide: Free Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Suspended
The Alabama Crimson Tide will suffer a blow to its defense in the next few weeks as CBS Sports is reporting that star free safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is going to be suspended.
According to The Tuscaloosa News, Clinton-Dix loaned $100 to $300 from Alabama's assistant strength coach Corey Harris last summer. Clinton-Dix has reportedly been placed on administrative leave and coach Nick Saban said to reporters earlier this week that Clinton-Dix would be suspended indefinitely but did not elaborate.
"I'm going to be consistent," Saban said. "When guys get suspended, I never ever say what it's for. All right? So, I'm not going there so don't ask me. All right? It's the way it always happens. Every guy."
Clinton-Dix has been a big part of the Crimson Tide defense in the team's four games thus far. He ranked second on the team's defense with a total of 24 tackles.
Even as a junior, Clinton-Dix is considered to be one of the top NFL prospects entering the draft. It is not yet known whether he will forego his senior year or stay at Alabama for another year.
The Crimson Tide is ranked at the top but now it will have to work harder in Clinton-Dix's absence. Following Alabama's home matchup today against the George State Panthers, the team will travel to face Kentucky on the road next week. The Crimson Tide just barely held off Texas A&M in the first game of the year but won easily in the next two games against Colorado State and Ole Miss.
