Leighton Meester and Adam Brody Engaged: Sources Say Actors Secretly Married After Mexican Getaway
According to rumors, actors Leighton Meester and Adam Brody secretly got married despite never having officially announced their relationship.
According to "multiple" Us Weekly sources, Meester and Brody are already married. The two actors have never confirmed that they are even dating, but plentiful examples of PDA have proven the romance to be real. Meester has been spotted hiding in the back of Brody's car and snuggling with Brody in Venice, California, for example.
"Adam put his arm around Leighton and the two smiled at each other while she snuggled into his chest before the trio headed out," a PEOPLE source said about a year ago.
E! News says it has confirmed the marriage. The site reports that 27-year-old Meester had a bachelorette party at Hamburger Mary's, a restaurant in West Hollywood. Weeks later, from Feb. 12 until Feb. 15, Meester and Brody reportedly spent time at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico.
Over the weekend, Brody was spotted wearing a gold wedding ring on his left ring finger. The questionable jewelry can be seen in a picture he took with a fan, which has since been uploaded to Instagram.
Meester and Brody both gained fame in teen dramas created by Josh Schwartz (Gossip Girl and The O.C. respectively). The two's romance reportedly heated up while they were filming the the 2011 film, The Oranges. At the time, a Us Weekly source said the two "were always close and friendly."
The actors' romance was also heightened by their leading roles in Life Partners, a comedy that hits theaters July 23 of this year. Meester and Brody reportedly got engaged in November 2013 after beginning their relationship in February 2013. Neither actor has been married before.
Meester will also appear in the Broadway show, Of Mice and Men, which opens March 19 at the Longacre Theatre. Brody will appear in Think Like a Man Too, which hits theaters June 20.
