During a recent interview with Karen Civil, singer and actress Teyana Taylor discussed her pregnancy and relationship with longtime boyfriend and NBA star Iman Shumpert, MadameNoire reports.

When asked whether she had plans to stop working while she is pregnant, Taylor revealed that she would continue to record and make music for her fans.

"No, no, no the work does not stop," Taylor said. "The studio will be built in the house and music already calms my daughter when she's upset. I'm sure the records will be coming."

She continued, "It's crazy because my third and fourth month, the only thing that would calm baby girl down was hearing [Iman] sing a Ceelo song to her and also I'd play Sade on my phone and lay it on my stomach."

Shumpert was also present for Taylor's interview with Karen Civil, and he discussed why he and Taylor chose to wait to tell the world about their first baby.

Shumpert explained that, contrary to popular belief, Taylor's pregnancy was "never a secret." They chose to make the big reveal of their first child something special for the public and to keep it sacred.

"We as parents-to-be wanted the moment of people finding out we were expecting a child to be special. This is not a story or an exclusive - it's a celebration of life and that should be respected," Shumpert said.

Last week, both Taylor and Shumpert took to Instagram to make their baby announcement. Shumpert revealed that he and Taylor are expecting a baby girl on Jan. 16, 2016 and that they plan to name her Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., E! News reports.

The loving couple expressed their excitement over their bundle of joy via loving Instagram messages, and Taylor later posted another photo of herself pregnant, posing on what appears to be a music video set.
