There may soon be a lot more Mystique in our lives as a Mystique franchise spin-off is reportedly a possibility.

X-Men: Days of Future Past, which features Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, hit theaters May 23. Still, producers are already considering the possibility of a new X-Men spin-off movie. According to Lauren Schuler Donner, who has produced every big screen X-Men film, 20th Century Fox is open to the idea as well.

"There was a regime [at the studio] that didn't see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we're going to do right by it," she said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Lawrence's blue Mystique is on the short list of mutants under consideration. Her character apparently has a bigger role in the upcoming film compared to X-Men: First Class.

"I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble," Simon Kinberg, writer and producer of X-Men: First Class, said. "There's so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo."

There are some additional characters that crew are interested in exploring solo as well.

"I'd like to do Gambit," Donner continued. "I'd like to do Deadpool. We'll see. There's a lot of really great characters."

Kinberg also said he was interested in a Gambit film in addition to a Mystique project. So far, only Hugh Jackman's Wolverine has received a spin-off film franchise.

In late March, Entertainment Weekly polled fans to see which characters they were most interested in seeing in their own film. Twenty-four percent voted for Deadpool; 21 percent voted for Gambit; 19 percent voted for X-Force; 17 percent voted for Storm; 11 percent voted for Mystique and 8 percent voted for Magneto.

Until then, there are a few more X-Men films to keep fans busy. X-Men: Apocalypse premieres May 27, 2016. In addition, a new Wolverine film is scheduled to hit theaters March 3, 2017.
