Minecraft developer Mojang has launched a new update for the title, promising to bring the home console versions as close to the PC edition as they ever have been.

Majong's official website details the numerous features introduced with "Update 1.8.8," which is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Players will have access to a variety of new items, blocks, mobs and biomes.

Many of the added items relate to the recently released 'bunnies' from a previous update. There is Raw Rabbit, Cooked Rabbit, Rabbit Stew, Raw Mutton, Cooked Mutton, Rabbit's Foot and Rabbit Hide.

In addition, there is are new flower and plant-based items such as Blue Orchid, Allium, Azure Bluet, Tulips, Oxeye Daisy, Sunflower, Lilac, Poppy (which replaces Rose), Rose Bush, Peony, Double Tall Grass and Large Ferns.

A small variety of fish, potions and Prismarine items have also been added.

When it comes to blocks, there are 22 new additions, including the previously mentioned Prismarine, as well as Red Sandstone, Wet Sponge, Slime Bocks and Packed Ice.

Players will explore new landscapes such as Mesa, Savanna, Deep Ocean, and various Forest-themed biomes. Previously introduced biomes like Swamp, Jungle, Plains and Extreme Hills have been tweaked and improved as well.

Endermite, Guardian, Elder Guardian and Rabbit mobs will also roam the lands. Players can even set them free with the Spawn Eggs now available in the game's Creative Mode.

Other additions include fishing bonuses, added professions for villagers, Witch spawning lightning, and a new tutorial mode (shown below).

Note, the PlayStation Vita update is expected to arrive in a few days, while the Wii U edition won't see it the update until sometime next year.
