If you are one of the many who believes that Microsoft is indeed working on a Lightweight Xbox console, you can finally let go of that idea as Xbox One executive Phil Spencer has denied the prevailing rumors.

According to GameSpot, Spencer gave a blunt "Not Real!" answer when he was asked whether Microsoft was really working on a Mini Xbox One console. For someone who has overseen the transformation of the Xbox console over the years, Spencer's answer might be enough to consider that there is, in fact, no plans for Microsoft to release a lightweight version of the console.

You can't blame if others believe that there will be a mini version of the Xbox One as Microsoft has a history of redesigning its console. After the reign of the Xbox 360, it was redesigned and named Xbox 360 Elite back in 2007. The redesign did not end there as the Elite model was later transformed to a super elite version in 2010.

If Microsoft has done this before, they can do it again with the Xbox One console. In a recent report by the Metro, Chinese Blog WPDang first revealed the rumor about a lightweight Xbox One console. The blog apparently revealed that the upcoming smaller version of the Xbox One console will be one-third of its original size and will be significantly quieter than the current version.

Another rumored feature of the supposed lightweight Xbox One console is the disappearance of the Blu-Ray disc player, which many believed would be a great milestone for the console. The blog has since then removed the report from their site.

For some reason, many found fault on the rumor such as Microsoft missing Gamescom as the perfect venue for the announcement of the Mini Xbox One. Despite this, some believe that while the rumors seem to possess a bleak future, it may not be far for Microsoft to consider a new design, given how PlayStation 4 has dominated the sales on consoles this year.

Christmas went by without any news on the Xbox One Mini, which might mean that there is no upcoming lightweight Xbox.

What do you think of the idea of an Xbox One Mini? Do you think it will make a difference on your gaming experience? Will you consider buying one?
