Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James and his marketing agency LRMR have severed ties with disgruntled Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel. It comes a few days after Manziel was rumored to have been seen in a Las Vegas nightclub, where he allegedly used the name "Billy" and was wearing a blond wig, fake moustache and glasses as a disguise one day before the Browns' season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"We've decided to end our formal business relationship with Johnny. I will continue to support and advise him as a friend. However, because Johnny needs to focus on personal growth, the next phase of his career and because LRMR continues to expand beyond marketing, we made the mutual decision that it was best to terminate our business relationship," Maverick Carter said as quoted by Cleveland.com.

Carter is a long long-time friend and business partner of James, who runs LRMR and represented Manziel in his endorsement deals since 2014. The agency helped the 22-year-old quarterback get signed to endorsement agreements with MusclePharm, Nike and Snickers.

He also endorsed and filmed commercials for McDonald's and Nissan while James has always supported him in public. The two-time NBA Champion was on Manziel's side during the Browns' quarterback controversy of 2014 and has even called him "part of the family."

However, James expressed concern about Manziel's current controversy, telling ESPN that it is a distraction for him and all the people involved. "I'm not quite sure, I don't know all the details on it. I've really kind of haven't been all up on it but I've heard a little of it," James said.

"It's just a distraction for not only himself, but for everyone, that's around him including family, people that represent him, people that are around him. He'll figure it out at some point. We all hope," he added.

The growing list of controversies surrounding Manziel is alarming, considering his age and he has been in the NFL for two seasons only. He famously flipped the bird towards the Washington Redskins bench during the 2014 preseason with the league fining him $12,000.

Manziel was also involved in a fight last November 2014, NFL veterans calling him out for his lack of commitment, entering a Pennsylvania rehabilitation and treatment facility for ten weeks, a domestic violence incident with his girlfriend on Oct. 12, 2015, and the "Dom Perignon" video that cause his demotion after being named starter, per Sporting News.

The 22-year-old quarterback is reportedly done with Browns and wants to play for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys next season.
