Third Major Update to iOS 9

Apple has released two major updates since iOS 9 was introduced. iOS 9.1 and iOS 9.2 were the major updates. For iOS 9.3, Apple is not expected to release the final version to the public until the spring.

New Features Coming

Since Apple is updating its operating system by .1 it is considered a pretty major update. The most anticipated feature is the new Night Shift feature. With Night Shift, the iPhone or iPad will automatically optimize its colors to help users get a better night's sleep.

Night Shift is the newest way to allow mobile users to read their phones or tablets while in bed without disrupting their sleep cycle. After research was done that showed that the blue colors coming from phone and tablet screens was affecting the way that people slept, Apple found a way to diminish these blue colors and replace them with yellows. Apple says the color adjustment will help users sleep better.

The iOS 9.3 update also includes 3D Touch Quick Actions. With these new actions, users will have more ways to interact with the Health, Weather and Settings apps.

The Notes app now has an extra layer of security to help protect user's confidential information. If users store passwords or other confidential information as notes in the Notes app, they will now be able to put a password on these notes that will prevent unauthorized viewing.

Apple has been trying to improve the News app with better articles that are more personalized to the user. Apple plans to cater recommended articles by using the user's browsing and search history to make accurate recommendations.
