Eva Longoria and Jose "Pepe" Baston are engaged but they haven't said their "I dos" yet. Despite keeping the wedding at bay, the pair feels like they are already married.

Eva and Jose Call Each Other Husband and Wife

The "Telenovela" actress got engaged to Baston during their trip in Dubai last December. The 47-year-old president of Latin Media brand Grupo Televisa proposed with a ruby ring.

The "Desperate Housewives" star was overjoyed at the said proposal. '"I want to yell from the highest mountaintop about everything that goes on with us because I'm so happy and excited to be with a person as kind as Pepe is," Longoria said.

Following their engagement, Longoria revealed that they have been calling each other husband and wife for some time now. "The word 'fiancée' feels like I got demoted! We feel married," she said.

Actress Feels Different With Her Fiance

The 40-year-old actress was previously married to actor Tyler Christopher and basketball player Tony Parker. Her previous failed marriages made her appreciate her relationship with Baston more.

"What makes my relationship with Pepe so much sweeter is that I don't put pressure on myself or the idea of marriage as much as I did when I was younger," Longoria said.

"I wanted to walk down the aisle, I wanted a dress, I wanted the church. Once you realize a wedding isn't a marriage, then you can learn to appreciate it more, and it lessens the expectations when you've gone through it," she added.

Eva is More Relaxed Now

The actress also disclosed that she is less controlling on the simple matters like dinner plans and vacation getaways. She notes that she used to fret about it but, this time, she trusts her partner and she is more relaxed.

Longoria revealed that, the first time they met, there was no connection. The "Without Men" star just got out of a bad relationship and so was the divorced dad-of-three. They had a pleasant conversation, but she had no memories of what happened when they were introduced.

However, when they met for the second time, things were so different. "It was like the cliché angels singing and there was a glow around him and it was immediate chemistry," she said. In fact, they went on a four-hour lunch date the following day.

"He was the most handsome man I'd ever seen," Longoria said, describing the love of her life. "He was so charismatic, charming, sweet and funny. I thought, 'Who is this guy?!'"

What the Actress Wants on Her Big Day?

Although Longoria hasn't confirmed her wedding date yet, she told Ryan Seacrest during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live that she wants a "big fat Mexican Wedding," adding that she loves to have tacos and a mariachi band on her big day.
