Since the release of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, many were captivated by the huge wooden character named Groot. Even being able to say only one syllable, and that is its name, Groot was still able to be much more famous than the rest of the characters. At the end of the movie, Groot was destroyed but spawned as the little Groot. With the nearing of the sequel to the film, the teaser showed us a Baby Groot that is really adorable but some fans speculated that he was being included just for money.

According to Slash Film, director James Gunn, who is known for his honesty and being open to questions, have cleared all thoughts regarding the money making industry using Baby Groot. He used social media to indicate his responses such as Twitter and Facebook.

On Twitter, Gunn wrote "I'm sure some people think that but for me keeping Baby Groot throughout the film was the creative change that opened the film up for me," and was followed by "I was less confident the studio was going to buy in on Baby Groot than I was they were going to buy in on Ego the Living Planet."

He further wrote on Facebook that Baby Groot wasn't even on his plans to be included in the sequel.

As posted in Comic Book Movie, his plans was to create the film years after the original film so little Groot could grow as Groot but Gunn thought that it would be better if the audience can see the development of the characters. Lastly, he indicated that the thought of money making Baby Groot is possible but Gunn intimately said that he fell inlove with the little dude and to the script of the second film.
