In April, former University of Georgia football player Chase Vasser announced that he had a role in season 5 of AMC's "The Walking Dead." Now, however, the actor is trying to take it all back.

Georgia newspaper The Telegraph reported about the news, just three months after Vasser graduated from UGA.

"Vasser announced Monday that he will have a role in the new season of 'The Walking Dead' and has already agreed to play the role of a drug addict in an independent film that begins production in late April," the newspaper reported.

Vasser shared the news via Twitter.

"It's Official! Tune in on Oct 13th on AMC for The Walking Dead! #cannibaltwist," Vasser said according to Comicbook.com in a tweet that has since been deleted.

"bad timing to say I've never watch an episode of the Walking Dead. Gotta Catch Up ASAP!," he said via Twitter on Apr. 14.

Last week, Vasser's Twitter was active too, according to HNGN, but the tweets have since been deleted.

"That's A Wrap! Finally done being 193 pound drug addict. Beast Mode now for next Role! #ZombieKiller #NotDyingEasily," he reportedly wrote.

Now, not only is Vasser denying his spoiler alert, but he's claiming he's not even on "The Walking Dead."

"I will not be on the Walking Dead! #sorryfans," he tweeted on Friday.

Apparently, Vasser has been talking about other roles, not the apocalyptic zombie threat.

"my #ZombieKiller and #NotDyingEasily tweet was about my new film I'm doing were I'm a Vampire fighting Zombies, not a Walking Dead Spoiler," he tweeted Saturday.

"I didn't leak any spoilers for the show, all my tweets are about other projects!" he added.

That still doesn't explain Vasser's previous tweets announcing the role. Was he mistaken about confirming the job? Or is he just trying to keep things quiet until the premiere?

We'll find it in October when season five begins on AMC.
