There have been rumors that The "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," which is projected to be Nintendo's biggest game for their upcoming Switch, will not be available when the console officially launches in March.

This rumor was according to a recent report which details the game's current development state, which tallies with information provided to Eurogamer by some credible sources from Nintendo.

Zelda's current state of development

Just recently, reliable Nintendo leaker Emily Rogers detailed the game's localization schedule, which is said to continue through until the end of 2016. Afterward, four-to-six months of testing will follow before the game officially launches.

Eurogamer had also been leaked of the same schedule, as Nintendo is already slated towards launching the game in as close to perfect a state as possible after spending significant time on development. To put it simply, this is no small feat. "Breath of the Wild" is going to be a huge open-world game that will lean heavily on sandbox systems.

Mario to become the main title for Switch?

Nintendo's latest official update for "Breath of the Wild" is that it will be released in 2017. The question, now, is what huge first-party title will now spearhead during the Switch's official launch? According to reports, the new Mario 3D game will be ready in time to fill this role.

Nintendo is set to unveil more information regarding the Switch - like the fact that it has a touchscreen - at a special event on January 13.

Breath of the Wild will be a huge surprise

According to Forbes, There has not been much talk and updates regarding "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" after its official introduction during last year's E3. But a lot of tech enthusiasts fully understand why Nintendo has elected not to demo the game any further, and this is to avoid fans becoming bored of it before it even releases.
