At the TCA press tour appearance in summer 2012, Arrow's makers made a statement about the CW superhero series ending as it started. The series had shown the image of Oliver spying the fishing boat that would rescue him from Lian Yu.

Previously, producer Andrew Kreisberg was explaining the superhero series' flashback structure for the very first time and he said that the ideal episode ending of the series for him will be the very last flashback when Oliver sees the boat that rescued him in the pilot. That, as it seems now, will not be the case.

Arrow's showrunner Marc Guggenheim has told TVLine that the flashback of Oliver seeing the boat that rescued him will now form the ending of season 5 finale and not the series finale. There had been a lot of speculations from various sources about this being the scene for the season 5 finale and it has now been confirmed.

Marc Guggenheim has added that he really hoped in 2012 that the series will run for around five years and they intercut the final moment of the series with the first moment of the series and make it feel like one big Moebius strip. The show runner still believes that it would have been a dream comes true, but he also realizes that it would not be wise to artificially cut the show short just for that ending.

On the other hand, a character called Prometheus remains a mystery in the show. Screenertv reported, During the whole season 5 of "Arrow," an unknown Prometheus has made difficult for Oliver and his team.

While, According to GoshTV, Prometheus might be women. Marc Guggenheim, during his interview, hints that the season might not end quietly and poetically with Oliver peering over the deck of the boat with his eyes set on salvation.

He revealed that they have some amazing plans for what they want to do in the Season 5 finale and at the same time, he will be looking out for any room to throw in a cliff-hanger or a twist in. Stay tuned for more "Arrow" Season 5 updates.
