Converting solar energy into electricity is one of the most interesting developments of modern technology. But the process of this innovation is as tricky as incredible. However, Academic researchers have been able to create solar panels which can turn an amazing amount of 40 percent solar energy into consumable power. But in reality, consumer solar battery has been able to capture and capitalise only 29 percent of the whole energy theoretically. A new generation group of researchers have now developed ways by which consumer cells will boast more power capturing capacity than the earlier reached limit.

Previously, the highest-end solar cells were only able to capture 25.6 percent of solar energy. But now, according to Nature.com, researchers from Kaneko corp have developed a new consumers cell which is able to offer 26.3 percent efficiency. The development has now been marked as a record-breaking innovation by experts, as though, in theory, 29 percent efficiency ratings has been achieved and proved by silicon-based cell technology, but in the practical context, before the advent of this cell, the highest achieved efficiency ratings by any consumer battery was 25.6. The newest one is also a silicon battery.

As per a report by Engadget, the team was researching on the shortcomings for which they were still unable to achieve the theoretical limit. In the process, they found out that reducing the level of optical loss will likely increase the efficiency of the cell. Therefore, they employed low-resistance electrodes to the lower side of it eventually creating fields for more protons to be captured. And thus they finally came to launch the highly efficient solar battery.

Potential sources have even claimed that this newly evolved consumer cell will be introduced in the markets soon. Researchers have even claimed that they are getting close to overriding the theoretical level of efficiency of silicon-based battery technology.
