There are many studies stating ways on how Alzheimer's disease can be prevented. Some of these are good exercise, a healthy diet, and a good quality of sleep.

Deep sleep is important to keep the heart healthy and it may also help the brain get rid of the toxins that influence the occurrence of Alzheimer's disease.

Getting a good quality of sleep is important for the cognitive functions of the brain. It also helps the brain maintain all of its other functions.

According to a recent study, slow waves of brain activity can contribute to intact memory retention.

During sleep, the Cerebrospinal fluid released during a non-rapid movement of the eye while sleeping also removes the waste of metabolic products in the brain of a person.

According to a report by JAMA in 2018, frequently disrupted sleep negatively contributes to a person's brain health by increasing their risk of suffering from Alzheimer's diseases in the future. The research had concluded that people with sleeping issues are 1.68 times at a higher risk of suffering from cognitive-related illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease. The study also found out that fifteen percent of the people with Alzheimer's disease are suffering from sleeping problems.

Active mental and physical lifestyles also contribute to the prevention of cognitive malfunction of a person.

According to the researchers from the University of Michigan, those who are aged 66 and above and are already using hearing aids after suffering from the failure of hearing have a high probability of being diagnosed with dementia and/or depression and acquire injuries from a fall.

A terrible sleep may cause a person to suffer from high blood pressure during that night and in the morning, based on a study published in the Psychosomatic Medicine journal. The results of the study had suggested that the quality of sleep of a person affects a person's risk of getting a heart attack and other cardiovascular illnesses.

The participants of the research with low-quality of sleep had been observed to have shown increases in their blood pressures after a terrible sleep at night. These people had an increased systolic BP ( the number reading of a person's blood pressure) in the morning.

According to the research team, getting a good quality of sleep is important for acquiring good health in the long term. They had also suggested for people to place their mobile phone devices in a different room and placing a curtain in a window that is facing the east.

Based on a statement by the National Sleep Foundation, people with sleep apnea have a less healthy heart compared to those who don't. One reason for this is the body to have long and deep resting periods to allow the body to release chemicals that the body needs to maintain a good heart rate and blood pressure. The study had been published in 2008 in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine and it had resulted in a conclusion that people with intense sleep apnea are at a higher risk of getting coronary artery illness, stroke, and heart failure.
