The best thing about Star Wars is that nobody is ever too old for lightsabers, holograms, and spaceships. Even George Lucas acknowledged the franchise was an absolute cultural reset.

Every year since 2011, fans organize and host the official Star Wars Day. Events and festivities include costume contests, fan-made films, and fun parties.

Fans who stay at home can binge the entire series in a movie marathon, or even wear the costumes from the movies with uncanny accuracy to the production material.

Star Wars Survey

In a survey done by the Los Angeles PR Firm, they gathered data from 1,000 respondents regarding the series and what more they expect to happen.

When asked about who they wanted the next Star Wars standalone film to focus on, the majority of the data said they wanted Master Yoda. Although this greatly varied according to age, he easily came in first for fans aged between 14-34 and 35-44.

Another question was which between the prequels and sequels that fans liked most! This has polarized the fandom for years, and the results were close enough to be a tie. From the participants, 51% preferred the sequels to the prequels.

Perhaps as one of the more controversial questions, fans were torn about whether or not Kylo Ren, played by American actor Adam Driver, was attractive. Almost half of women thought he was cute, with 47%, whereas only 18% of the men thought the same. Tough luck, Ben!

At the end of the poll, the fan-favorite Star Wars film was The Phantom Menace tied with The Empire Strikes Back. The Return of the Jedi nearly proceeded with these.

The film that is considered the favorite by the least fans is Rogue One, with 9% of the respondents claiming their love for the standalone. But every Star Wars fan must be especially happy to hear that the film is getting a prequel in the form of a series! Be sure to catch it on Disney Plus sometime this 2020.

Diego Luna on Star Wars

Diego Luna, who played Andor in Rogue One, sat down with Variety and talked about the upcoming Star Wars spinoff series.

He said that knowing the fate of his character made it hard to play Cassian Andor at the start of the film, but with regards to the production of the currently untitled Star Wars prequel series, Luna said, "Now we can talk about what happened earlier."

Luna expressed his excitement for taking up the role again. In a separate interview, Luna said that the Star Wars films left a "profound mark" on him as both a filmmaker and a cinema goer.

He said, "I'm happy to be part of that universe because I grew up watching those films."

Just when he thought his time with the franchise was over, he got word about the new spinoff. Luna told SYFY WIRE in an interview that Disney Plus would give all the time for the production team to develop characters in a way they would not be able to do in films.

"The proximity with the audience becomes so much more profound," he said, "the connection."
