Apple's default settings are not always the best to help you get the most out of your iPhone. There are some steps that you can do like changing some of its settings to make your iPhone 12 even better.

According to a recently published article in CNET, here are some settings in your iPhone 12 that you can change to get the best of it:

1. How To Turn Off 5G Connection?

One of the distinct features of Apple's iPhone 12 models is its 5G connection. This is a faster and more reliable cellular connection. Apple also touts the specific feature of the iPhone 12 that will automatically switch between 4G LTE and 5G networks without you knowing it or without doing a thing.

However, some may find that their iPhone 12's battery drains faster than it did before. If you do not want this feature, you can choose to shut it down and you can always turn 5G back on when you want it or when the service in your area improves.

To do this, open the Settings app then go to Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data and tap LTE. Additionally, if you want your phone to exclusively use 5G, you can select 5G on.

2. Data Used on a 5G Connection

Go first to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Data Mode and you will find three options and these are to allow more data on 5G, Standard, and Low Data Mode.

According to an Apple support document, allowing more data on 5G will give you high-quality video and FaceTime calls, and it also means that your phone can download software updates, stream high-definition Apple TV and Apple Music content. This will also allow third-party developers to improve their respective apps.

3. Change the Incoming Call Alert

Apple changes the incoming call alert in its iOS 14. The incoming call now looks like a typical alert. This is now a small notification that shows up near the top of the screen when you are using your phone. But there are times that you will miss a call because you brushed off the alert.

To change this and get the full-screen incoming call alert back, go to Settings > Phone > Incoming Calls and tap Full Screen.

4. Show Full Notifications on Your Lock Screen

All iPhones with Apple's Face ID tech will hide the contents of an alert until you pick up your phone and unlock it by looking at it by default. It is a privacy feature that some iPhone users enjoy but a feature that also annoys many iPhone owners.

If you want full notifications to appear on your lock screen, go to Settings > Notifications > Show Previews and select Always. Conversely, you can select Never if you want to keep the contents of your notifications always hidden on the lock screen.

These are some of the tricks that you can do in your iPhone 12's settings to get the best of it. Apple's new models have new features that you to explore and maximize at the same time.
