After having an affair with his brother Beau's widow, Hallie Biden, Hunter Biden convinced his father Joe in early 2017 to release a statement about approval with his new relationship in order to cover it and it would not 'seem wrong.'

At the time, Joe Biden, who had recently left the White House after he served for two terms as the vice president for the Barack Obama administration, was reached by Hunter and told him that if people will find out the relationship without any approval from him, it makes it seem wrong. The approval was mentioned in his book 'Beautiful Things' which will be released on April 6.

According to Fox News, Hunter Biden approached his father only after he was cornered in an interview, asking him about the relationship. In a copy of the book obtained by the news outlet, Hunter shared that his father left the vice presidency a month before the approval statement and he said to Joe that he and Hallie were lucky as they both found each other.

Moreover, Hunter also mentioned to his father that Joe's grandchildren would be the victims of the public if Joe will not give his approval about the relationship. Hunter also pleaded to his father that kids would have to know that there is nothing wrong with the affair, and that Joe is the only person who can do it.

After hearing the request, Joe Biden was reluctant about the approval statement but in the end, he finally agreed and shared to the public that as parents, they were lucky that Hunter and Hallie found each other as they were putting their lives together again after the loss of Beau. Joe Biden also emphasized that together with his wife Jill, they completely support the relationship of Hunter and Hallie and they were happy for them, New York Post reported.

In addition, a day after the statement from Joe, Hunter mentioned in his book that it was the beginning of the end. He also clarified that they are not putting their lives back together but rather living it in quiet desperation as they were now in full display for the public. Hunter also noted that he was continuing his long history of substance abuse after backsliding after his rehab.

Beautiful Things

In his book, Hunter also mentioned that he was madly trying to hold on to a slice of his brother and even Hallie was doing the same. He also shared that neither of them had planned a long-term relationship, but right now, both of them felt that they needed to and they must stick with each other.

Also, Hunter wrote that they were not all in, or if they worry, the relationship will be considered as a salacious fling. He added that it is the reason why they are trying to work things out as losing it is not an option. Hunter also mentioned that he will be dealing with things in a different perspective as he was already clean and sober, Daily Mail reported.
