Wrestling Superstars were confirmed to wow the crowd of Las Vegas, Nevada, as SummerSlam 2021 will take place on Allegiant Stadium this coming August. WWE reported that the SummerSlam this year will mark the first time the annual event will take place in an NFL stadium.

Although news regarding SummerSlam 2021 in Las Vegas surfaced, WWE did not initially confirm the stadium the annual event where the annual event will take place. But with the company's confirmation that happened on Saturday, fans might have to fly to Nevada as the event will happen on August 21, five in the afternoon.

WWE SummerSlam 2021 in Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas

Apart from the confirmation of the venue for SummerSlam 2021, Comicbook reported that the annual event will be one of the first sporting events that will be held in full capacity since the coronavirus pandemic has started.

"Coming out of the pandemic, it was important to us to have a big event like SummerSlam in Las Vegas," said WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer, Nick Khan, who was also reported to be a Las Vegas native. Khan added that they expect to "boost in-foot traffic for the casinos and local businesses" in Vegas and provide a "great night of sports and entertainment" to the people of Las Vegas.

The official announcement of WWE about the venue of the annual event comes as wrestler Asuka posted a photo of Allegiant Stadium with a shocked emoji. The tweet placed the wrestler under the spotlight for allegedly leaking the venue of WWE's annual event.

However, Asuka defended herself in a separate tweet arguing that "There is no other meaning" behind the photo of the stadium she posted aside from having a raiders cap. The wrestler also added that her friend has an "annual seat in the stadium."

Allegiant Stadium to Host WWE SummerSlam 2021

Aside from being the home of Las Vegas Raiders and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College Football team, Allegiant Stadium will also be the temporary home of SummerSlam this 2021. A great number of WWE fans will enjoy the event as the stadium can cater up to 65,000 seats. The stadium also has a translucent roof, as well as a variety of premium spaces throughout all levels.

"We couldn't be more excited to host SummerSlam for the very first time, and welcome WWE, and the WWE Universe to Las Vegas this August," said the president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Steve Hill. Hill also emphasized that SummerSlam will be the "perfect" addition to the summer calendar of Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Raiders also expressed their delight with the annual event taking place in Vegas. Raiders President, Marc Badain noted that their team was thrilled to join WWE in hosting SummerSlam at the Allegiant Stadium. Badain also applauded WWE's move to host one of their "signature events" in the sports and entertainment capital of the world.

WWE SummerSlam2021 will be streamed live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network overseas for fans who can't attend the event personally. Tickets for the event will start to be available on Friday, June 18.
