Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez has bought a young artist's painting to help her going to a university.

Nicole Gonzales, 17, had attempted to sell her portrait of Canelo Alvarez by displaying it on the side of a busy road in Hermosillo in Mexico. Mexico News Daily reported that Gonzales was trying to sell all her artworks to fund her university studies.

She also posted on social media to further promote her painting of Canelo Alvarez. In the caption of her posts, she said that her dream is to study visual arts at a university in Mexico City.

Nicole Gonzales also said she finished her acrylic painting of Canelo Alvarez on the canvas after 37 days. She added that it is one of her greatest achievements, and it means a lot to her.

The young artist said that Canelo Alvarez had inspired her to follow her dreams, "to try and never stop." Her posts had caught the attention of the Mexican boxer as thousands of users shared them.

The young artist posted on social networks a photo of a painting about Canelo Alverez, where he is seen with a victory gesture after an intense fight.

Canelo Alvarez is currently a unified super middleweight world champion. The Mexican boxer held the WBA (Super), WBC, and Ring magazine titles since 2020 and the WBO title since May 2021.

Nicole Gonzales confirmed that the painting is going to the Mexican boxer. The young artist expressed her gratitude and said she did not expect that many people would be interested in the painting.

'Tribute To The Kings' Show

Canelo Alvarez was present during the "Tribute To The Kings" show on Saturday, June 19. The boxing show saw Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. and Jr. returned to the ring against Hector Camacho Jr. and UFC legend Anderson Silva, respectively, DAZN News reported.

Chavez Sr. acknowledged Alvarez's presence and asked him to come and work his corner. Senior dubbed Alvarez as the best Mexican best fighter today, possibly even in history.

Alvarez humbly replied that Chavez Sr. will be the greatest Mexican fighter ever, saying that it was an honor to be part of the event. Alvarez also congratulated Silva on his win against former world middleweight titleholder Chavez Jr. on that eventful night.

What's Next For Canelo Alvarez?

Canelo Alvarez is in talks with Eddie Hearn to face Caleb Plant on September 11 as he intends to unify the super middleweight division before the year ends, GiveMeSport reported.

Plant has held the IBF version of the world title since 2019. He could now put it on the line against Alvarez, who is currently in the top spot in ESPN's pound-for-pound rankings.

Some boxing fans had been hoping that they could see the 30-year-old Mexican boxer take on Gennady Golovkin. However, he has already rejected the idea of fighting his rival for a third time this summer.

Hearn said he contacted Canelo Alvarez about hosting the undisputed fight on the DAZN streaming service. But Alvarez announced he would no longer be working with DAZN after terminating his contract with his former management company Golden Boy Promotions.

His winning fight with Billy Joe Saunders last month drew a staggering 400,000 new subscribers on DAZN in the U.S. alone. So it seems that this could still change his mind.

Hearn said he remains confident he can get the deal over the line and hopes to have a Canelo Alvarez undisputed fight on September 11 on the platform, The Daily Star reported
