Aside from wearing face masks, social distancing, and other old safety regulations against the ongoing pandemic, Biden also announced that he is considering vaccine booster advice from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

According to CNN's latest report, the nation's leader is currently debating a series of steps to prevent further COVID-19 infections. As of the moment, the daily novel coronavirus cases in the United States are increasing since the new Delta variant has entered the country.

Because of this, a senior administration health official confirmed that the U.S. government is now studying how to provide extra vaccine shots to vulnerable individuals, especially those who haven't received even a single dose of the medicine.

"What they're doing is they're going into -- investigating every aspect of any change that could or might take place. But the vaccines are good against all of the variants that are out there, including the Delta variant," said Biden.

Right now, he said that he is receiving daily updates on the rising COVID-19 cases in the United States. On the other hand, he is also observing the increasing numbers of Delta-infected cases.

Since the novel coronavirus pandemic is still ravaging the country, Biden decided to purchase an additional 200 million doses of Pfizer's vaccine, which is considered the most effective brand against Delta, with around 80% efficacy.

On the other hand, the U.S. president hasn't confirmed yet if he will re-implement wearing face masks to all American residents. He added that this decision will still fall under CDC and FDA.

COVID-19 Surges Could Further Rise In October

According to USA Today's latest report, medical experts claimed that the current numbers of COVID-19 cases could still rise this coming October, which will be the peak of infections.

They added that the Delta variant could be the main reason for the upcoming massive surge.

"What's going on in the country with the virus is matching our most pessimistic scenarios. We might be seeing synergistic effects of people becoming less cautious in addition to the impacts of the delta variant," said Justin Lessler, an epidemiologist from the University of North Carolina.
