Murderers "El Chino," and a couple known as "Monsters of Ecatepec," were among the most notorious serial killers in Mexico.

Aside from the Mexican drug cartels bringing violence to Mexico, serial killers also bring terror to this Latin American country.

Famous Serial Killers in Mexico

There are a handful of serial killers reported in Mexico. If you are interested in knowing some of them, look at the list and see who they are. 

Andres N. or 'El Chino'

Serial killer Andres N., also known as "El Chino," was only nabbed last year. El Pais reported that he was arrested inside his home in Atizapán de Zaragoza in the State of Mexico following the discovery of human remains under the floorboards of his house.

Police discovered his criminal activities after some people reported that his last victim, Reyna Gonzalez, had gone to his home before she disappeared.

After his arrest, the 72-year-old man reportedly admitted to as many as 30 murders over the course of two decades and eaten some of the remains of his victims.

Monsters of Ecatepec

A couple, known as the "monsters of Ecatepec," was arrested in Ecatepec, Mexico state in October 2018 while wheeling a baby carriage containing human remains.

According to Mexico News Daily, Juan Carlos Hernández Bejar and Patricia Martinez Bernal were sentenced to life in prison last year for the murder of a 13-year-old girl in 2012.

The couple also admitted to killing at least 20 women in Mexico state. They also confessed to eating the remains of some of their victims. 

Juana Barraza Samperio or the 'Little Old Lady Killer'

Juan Barraza Samperio is a former Mexican professional wrestler who was sentenced to 759 years in prison for killing 48 elderly women in Mexico City from the late 1990s to January 2006, El Pais reported.

She would reportedly bludgeon or strangle her victims to death and rob them afterward. The serial killer posed as a government official who worked in social welfare to gain the trust of her victims.

Barraza Samperio was arrested in 2006 as she fled the home of an elderly woman whom she strangled with a stethoscope.

Raul Osiel Marroquin or 'El Sadico'

Raul Osiel Marroquin, also known as "El Sadico," is a kidnapper and serial killer responsible for six kidnappings in 2005, four of which ended in the murder of male homosexuals in Mexico City.

According to reports, El Sadico was an organized killer motivated by hate and discrimination. All of his victims were homosexual men, for which he has become a symbol of homophobia in Mexico. He was arrested in January 2006 in Mexico City and was sentenced to a total of almost 300 years in prison.

Adolfo Constanzo or 'The Godfather of Matamoros'

Adolfo de Jesus Constanzo, also known as "The Godfather of Matamoros," was a serial killer and cult leader in Mexico.

Constanzo reportedly led the infamous gang dubbed "Los Narcosatanicos" (The Narcosatanists) involved in multiple sadistic ritual murders, including the murder of Mark Kilroy, an American student killed in Matamoros in 1989.

Determined not to go to prison, Constanzo handed the gun to one of his followers and ordered him to shoot him when police arrived at their apartment in Mexico City in 1989.

Delfina and María de Jesus Gonzalez or 'Las Poquianchis' 

Delfina and Maria de Jesus González, known as "Las Poquianchis, were two sisters from Guanajuato state who were among the most feared serial killers in Mexico's history.

According to Ranker, they were arrested and sentenced 40 years in prison in 1964 for killing a total of 91 people. Reports said the sisters, who own some brothels across several cities in Guanajuato, would prowl the countryside searching for the prettiest young ladies. 

They would also post help-wanted ads that targeted women who hoped to make it big. The Gonzalez sisters offered their victims employment opportunities as maids or waitresses, who were force-fed heroin or cocaine.

In some cases, Delfina and her lover would kidnap women. After one of the brothel girls managed to escape, police raided the "Rancho El Angel," where 91 bodies were found.

The sisters reportedly killed the prostitutes when they became too ill, damaged by repeated sexual activity, stopped pleasing the customers, or lost their looks. The Guinness World Record called the sisters the "most prolific murder partnership."

Gregorio Cardenas Hernandez or 'Goyo'

Gregorio "Goyo" Cardenas Hernandez, also known as the "Strangler of Tacuba," was the first serial killer whose case was widely published in the media in Mexico.

Cardenas Hernandez reportedly committed his murders between August and September 1942. He allegedly raped four young women before killing them.
