Last month, Solange Knowles was the focal point of a nasty elevator fight caught on camera between her and Jay-Z.

But fast forward to this month; Solange Knowles is trading in her boxing gloves for a new, lavish engagement ring.

MediaTakeOut reports that the 28-year-old singer and her beau Alan Ferguson are engaged after five years of dating.

The happy couple has been away on vacation to the Caribbean as a celebration getaway for Knowles' 28th birthday.

And it was there that Ferguson reportedly got down on one knee and popped the question.

So now Ms. Knowles has two things to celebrate while having fun in the tropics.

Although Knowles has yet to confirm her engagement, she did take the time out to Instagram a few photos from her trip.

She also thanked her fans for their loving birthday wishes and even commented that her birthday "couldn't have been more perfect."

Hmm... Was Knowles alluding to her engagement? We will just have to wait and see.

"Today couldn't have been more perfect," Knowles wrote on Instagram. "I couldn't have smiled harder. Thank you for all of your lovely and wonderful wishes. They warmed my heart and I simply feel grateful for all of the love."

So how did the two love birds meet?

Well, last year, Knowles admitted to NecoleBitchie.com that she was the one who made the first move when she and Ferguson first started dating.

"Certainly, in the beginning I was the one who approached him so I have always sort of historically been one of those girls that goes after something that I'm into," she said. "I'm not very old school and like, I'm gonna wait on you. Wait for you to approach me type of situation. I have a lot of guy-like quintessential relationship qualities that I have had to work on."

Since Ferguson and Knowles have been dating, Knowles describes their relationship as "stable" and even revealed that they both do a good a job at co-parenting Knowles' 9-year-old son, Julez, from a previous marriage.

"Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago," Knowles told Us Weekly back in March. "My love life has been stable for a while. It's a f--ked-up thing-without conflict it's a lot harder to write interesting songs."

Congratulations to Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson!
