Social Security payments such as SSDI payments or the Social Security Disability Insurance benefits and Supplemental Security Income will be distributed this March.

Social Security retirement benefits are also expected to be sent to their respective beneficiaries.

CNET reported that the SSDI payments schedule can be in two ways. The first one is for those SSDI recipients since 1997 or before their payments are scheduled to arrive on the third day of every month.

However, it can be earlier if the third day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday. For March, the third day of the month is on a Friday.

Meanwhile, SSDI payments are different when you are part of the group of recipients who have not been receiving SSDI benefits since 1997 or before.

SSDI payments beneficiaries with birth dates between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive their payments on the second Wednesday of the month.

Those with birthdays between the 11th and the 20th of the month will receive their payments on the third Wednesday of the month.

Those who will receive their SSDI payments on the fourth Wednesday of the month will be recipients with birthdates between the 21st and 31st.

 SSDI Payments March Schedule

March 3 will be the first date that SSDI recipients would have to anticipate, especially those receiving the benefits since before May 1997.

The next date in March to wait for is March 8, especially for those with birthdays falling between the first and 10th of any given month.

Meanwhile, those with birthdays falling between the 11th and 20th will receive their Social Security payments on March 15, according to CNET.

March 22 will be the last SSDI payments March schedule, especially for those with birthdays falling between the 21st and 31st.

If you happen to receive other benefits aside from SSDI payments, such as SSI, your SSI March payments should have already been distributed with March 1 being its scheduled distribution date.

The Social Security Administration advises beneficiaries to wait three additional days before reaching out if their checks have not arrived on the scheduled date.

Beneficiaries can speak with a representative at 800-772-1213 if their benefits have not arrived after the waiting period.

SSDI Payments

SSDI payments are distributed to around 8.2 million people, with some of their family members also receiving their payments.

The number of spouses receiving SSDI payments was 104,000 in 2021, while children of the beneficiaries who also receive the payment were reported to be at 1.4 million, as reported by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

The program's financial transactions are handled through an SSDI trust fund, which collects payroll tax revenues and pays out benefits.

It is legally separate from the Social Security retirement fund.

Projections issues in 2021 estimated that the SSDI trust fund will need replenishment in 2065.

Eligibility criteria for SSDI payments require applicants to be suffering from a severe, medically determinable physical or mental impairment and unable to do "substantial gainful activity," among many others.
