*NSYNC fans, Lance Bass is officially off the market.

People magazine reports that Bass is engaged to artist Michael Turchin. The announcement, which Bass made via Instagram, comes a week after he reunited with Justin Timberlake and his other *NSYNC band members at the VMAs.

The Instagram picture shows Bass and his new fiancé showing off the ring, while the caption reads: "He said YESS!! Love this man."

Drew Pokorny, the co-host and head writer of "Dirty Pop with Lance Bass" on SiriusXM, told People that Bass popped the question this past weekend in New Orleans, where the couple is spending their holiday vacation.

"They're so great together. I'm completely thrilled for them," Pokorny said. "Lance had his heart set on asking Michael here in New Orleans and celebrated with some of his closest friends from Mississippi and L.A. who came in for the weekend."

One of the couple's good friends, Sarah Smart, also commented on their engagement.

"Lance and Michael share the same passions, dreams, and vision for the future," Smart told People. "They complement each other perfectly. I am overjoyed that two of my closest friends have found each other and true happiness."

Two years ago, the 34-year-old celebrity told The Daily Beast that he wanted to get married and start a family.

"I definitely want that. I'm a Southerner," Bass said on his weekly talk show. "We dream of having the family and the kids. The parents want grandkids, and that's all they care about: Give me some grandbabies."

Bass has been dating Turchin since 2011. The former *NSYNC member came out as gay in a People magazine cover story in 2006. Since coming out as gay, Bass has been involved in numerous LGBT projects.

In 2007, he expressed his support for gay marriage in LOGO's "Visible Vote '08" blog. That same year, he appeared in GLAAD advertisements promoting LGBT tolerance. Bass also supports the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.
