Motorola began sending out invitations for a special event on Sept. 4, which will be likely be the official announcement of the Moto 360 smartwatch. Could there be more announcements and news at the event?

It appears that there are going to be at least four different announcements at this special event in Chicago. Technology reporters began receiving emails recently announcing that an event will take place on Sept. 4.

The invitation is in the style of a origami fortune teller with four panels. Each panel has a different icon, two are smartphones, one is a watch and one is a Bluetooth earpiece.

The two icons for the smartphones each have a different letter on their screen. One says X and the other says G. So, it sounds like Motorola is going to make some sort of announcement or update regarding the Moto X+1 and the Moto G.

The icon for the watch is almost certainly the next smartwatch to come out, the Moto 360. This smartwatch is going to be far superior in style than those released recently by LG and Samsung. Instead of being square, it will be a rounded watch.

As far as the icon for the Bluetooth earpiece, this might be the lowlight in the event. Motorola could announce an even smaller earpiece than they have had in the past, or they could improve their existing ones. With "Ok, Google" features, the Bluetooth headset could have an "always on" feature and really improve hands-free capabilities, especially during driving.

Those who received the email didn't receive the exact details of the event as it was more of a "save the date" invite. They were told to keep an eye on their inboxes for more information.
