Justin Bieber and Australian pop star Cody Simpson team up for their upcoming collaborative album, which is expected to drop later this year.

In August, Simpson took to his Instagram account to post a clip of presumably one of the tracks off the pair's latest project, as well as a snapshot of them playing their guitars together in a recording studio.

Bieber also teased the duo's forthcoming LP via Twitter on Monday:

"It is a smack bang duets [album]. Justin has been a good mate of mine for a while. It's just us writing," Simpson told Sydney's Daily Telegraph recently. "He told me he felt like I'd figured myself out and have grown into what he knows I will be, so he was like, 'I see you as that guitarist, singer-songwriter you've always wanted to be.' I play all the guitars on the album."

The "La Da Dee" singer then talked about his close relationship with the "Baby" hitmaker: "Obviously we're all young, and he gets himself into some stuff sometimes. He's a person I'd go to for everything. He's like a big brother. He has the world in his hands as he does a lot of good as well. I've got all good things to say."

Cody Simpson, who actually shares his manager Scooter Braun with Justin Bieber, previously explained how the two met up. "[Justin] gave me a call a couple months back, and I guess he'd seen some little clips I posted on Instagram of me playing guitar and jamming and soloing, and he was like, 'Man, you're getting really good. I'd love you to come and write,'" he told Canadian publication The Tribute. "We went in and ended up being in the studio 'til 6 in the morning, came out with a song, went in the next night and then ended up writing, like, 12 songs in seven days, working all night. So it was a great experience."

"We're both very different people and we're both inspired in very different ways, but I was able to come in and play some guitars and we were able to write some beautiful songs together -- pretty acoustic-sounding -- so you'll hear some music this year," he added.
