Aaron Hernandez's alleged accomplice, Ernest Wallace, pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of being an accessory to the murder of Odin Lloyd back in mid June.

Hernandez is currently facing murder and weapon-related charges and remains jailed without the opportunity to bail out. Lloyd was found dead not very far from Hernandez's Attleboro, Mass. home.

District Attorney C. Samuel Sutter said that more details will continue to emerge in the near future.

"I think it is a very safe assumption that during the bail hearing you will learn about matters that you're not aware of right now," Sutter said. "This is a very serious offense. Accessory after the fact of murder [carries] a seven-year state prison sentence. We allege that he assisted, in a material way, Aaron Hernandez after the fact of the murder of Odin Lloyd"

27-year-old Carlos Ortiz is a third person that is alleged to have been involved wit the killing. Video footage in Hernandez's home apparently shows Ortiz, Wallace, and Hernandez walking through the house on the night Lloyd was shot, which would help prosecutors confirm that they were all together that night.

Hernandez has landed in some very hot water since his arrest. Details have emerged about his past and authorities are now looking into whether he has had any roles in previous murders. He may have been involved with a double homicide from 2012 and officials have told the Boston Globe that they think Hernandez may have been worried that Lloyd knew something about the previous murder.

The former NFL star's lawyers have maintained that their client is innocent and that they believe the case against Hernandez is too weak. They believe he will be cleared.
