Big Sean's non-album cut "Control" stirs up the Internet due to Kendrick Lamar's world-beating verse, and Drake responds by saying that he's "done" with it.

In his verse, Kendrick personally calls out a handful of the biggest names in present day hip-hop, such as Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller, and Drake being one of them.

Kendrick Lamar basically gives these rappers a fair warning that now it's his time to reign; no matter how much he respects them, he will try to be the best. He also realizes that they are his competition, even the ones that he considers them as his friends and the ones that he has been featured with. The rapper believes that competition is the essence of hip-hop at its finest - the competition among the brothers to see who can create the greatest music, the greatest art,

"I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you n----s / trying to make sure your core fans never heard of you n----a /They don't wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you n----s / What is competition?"

In a recent interview with Los Angeles' Power 106, the Young Money rapper shared his opinions, in response to high-acclaimed Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse.

"I'm probably like as done as the rest of the world is with that record. I think it came and it went. And not to discredit it. It was a good moment, but at the end of the day, it's just like - it was one of those sort of like fleeting Twitter frenzies that like - it was cool for what it was. My thing is I like lasting power. I feel like he made a decision, you know what I'm saying? And it was a decision to make. He was like 'Man, I'm either gonna go for this moment because I know it's gonna be a big moment or I'm gonna take heed to the fact that I have real relationships and I'm gonna like not do that.' Cause I'll be real, I thought of doing that before. I thought 'Man, it'd be crazy if I just went off on everybody.' But it's just kinda like, 'Ah, where does it really get me? Then what? Then every time I rap people are gonna expect me to be confrontational and when I'm not then it's not entertaining? It's like it kinda puts you in a box a bit. I don't know if I necessarily respect it."

Drake added that he's unsure Kendrick would be able to secure any features from the artists that he called out during his verse.

"He's talented as f---. He's gonna have another album and another opportunity to take the world by storm again. So, he'll be alright. Even if it doesn't feature any of the names he mentioned, which it probably won't, to be honest with you. I don't know who's gonna go back from that and be like, 'Yeah, let's link up.' Nah, but he'll be alright."
