It's been six months since Rihanna parted ways with Instagram, but on Sunday she "RIH-UNITED" with the photo sharing site and announced to her 12.8 million Instagram followers that her Instagram account is back in business.

Since reactivating her account on Sunday, Nov.2, Rihanna has already posted a series of Instagram photos announcing her comeback.

Her first photo is an upside down image of part of her face with the caption, "hellur #badgalback."

The second image features a cartoon version of the pop star holding hands with a cartoon drawn Instagram figure along with the caption, "#RIHunited #badgalback @instagRam."

Her third post of the day is a snapshot of a CNN article about her comeback to Instagram.

Check out more of the photos below.

Instagram also expressed their excitement over the singer's comeback and tweeted her a welcome back message, CNN reports.

The Bajan singer's initial decision to deactivate her Instagram account stemmed from an issue she had with Instagram back in May over her nude photos. At the time, Rihanna posted a series of Instagram photos from her nude photo shoot for French adult entertainment magazine, LUI.

Instagram immediately took down the racy photos and temporarily deactivated Rihanna's account as the photos violated the site's strict no-nude-photo policy. Naturally, Rihanna -- who is known for her overtly sexual image -- became offended over Instagram's decision and opted to deactivate her account indefinitely ... until now.

As Rihanna continues to post new images on Instagram, her fans are rejoicing over her surprise Instagram comeback. Though Rihanna's LUI photos are still deleted and she has yet to post any new racy photos, the Twitter hashtags #RihannaInstagram and #badgalback are already trending. Some of Rihanna's fans have suggested that Rihanna's return to Instagram might be a way to promote her highly anticipated upcoming album, "R8" -- no news yet on whether or not that notion is true.
