The ongoing debate for "best soccer league in the world" never ends.

Of course, the FIFA World Cup is the most popular soccer tournament in the world, but it only comes but once every four years. The two most popular soccer leagues in the world are La Liga and the English Premier League

But which one is best? Let's break the most popular leagues down piece by piece:

La Liga

How can any soccer fan not love La Liga?

The best soccer players in the world such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are featured. The best players make up the best league, right? The two most famous teams are Real Madrid C.F. and F.C. Barcelona who make up the famous El Clasico rivalry. These two clubs have won a combined 54 Spanish Football Championships. Spain has certainly offered soccer fans a great league. James Rodriguez is also another superstar who plays in La Liga, for Real Madrid F.C.

With great rivalries, a long history and the best players, what's not to love?

English Premier League

Staying in Europe, England has always loved their soccer. The English Premier League offers great teams such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and others. The biggest advantage the EPL has over La Liga is parity and balance. Although the EPL doesn't have as many talented players as La Liga, many super star players such as Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Agüero and Wayne Rooney play there. The EPL also has more viewers than La Liga worldwide and generates more money.

Italian Serie A

It wasn't what it once was, but the Italian Serie A still has a lot of skilled and talented players. Italy has always been a soccer powerhouse, so this league isn't going anywhere. Great players like José Callejón, Carlos Tevez and Ignazio Abate help make this league great. Unfortunately, Serie A has been losing popularity in the 21st century with so many players joining La Liga and the EPL. It's not a dying league, but the competition in Europe is tough.

Bundesliga

Germany is after all, the FIFA World Cup Champions of soccer. Shinji Okazaki, Mario Götze and Kevin De Bruyne are some of the most notable players in the Bundesliga. The Bundesliga offers dominant clubs such as Bayern Munich and other great teams like Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga doesn't generate the profits and views like the EPL or have the superstars like La Liga, but the team play and close contests are among the best.

Major League Soccer

Major League Soccer is gaining popularity in the United States, especially among young Americans. Players such as Bradley Wright-Phillips, Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan help make the game great on the field. MLS spans all across the United States and even into Canada. Although MLS is gaining popularity in the United States, it's still a very much a domestic game.
