During Elliott Wilson's CRWN interview at NYU, Drake speaks about the track "Pound Cake," featuring Jay Z from his latest released album, "Nothing Was the Same." This is their third time collaborating together.

"'Pound Cake' happened while I was writing for Beyoncé or working with Beyoncé. Not writing for, working with. I hate saying writing for 'cause she's a phenomenal writer. She has bars on bars," the Toronto rapper talks about his studio time with Beyoncé Knowles, and discusses the origins of "Pound Cake."

He adds, "I sent the song back to Jay, and that was when it almost became a Jay Z song. He's such a good guy. He was just like, 'Man, I gave my word.'" The Young Money rapper explains that Jay Z got into the collaboration, which it all started with a pair of Hov's verses, the second and third verses of "Pound Cake" - initially a leftover from Jay Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail."

"Everybody around him was hype around the song. We're all so grateful to have Hov. I don't know what I'd do without that guy sometimes. He's full of gems, full of advice, and obviously one of the most talented people," Drake continues by praising and thanking Jay Z for his contribution to the track.

In addition, Drake recently has admitted that he sometimes prefers R&B over Rap. Furthermore, he reveals his plans to make an entire album featuring his singing, making a full R&B album, "I'm looking forward to giving you my version of a full singing record one day."
