The Internet exploded over the weekend when a recent video by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, featuring a horde of men conversing candidly about how they would each receive their "share" of female Yazidi slaves, hit the YouTube with an English translation by infotainment network company Al Aan TV on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The two-and-a-half minute clip displays the men sitting on couches making jokes about how many women each man will receive by the day's end. This is a contrast to previous videos uploaded on the Web by ISIS of which two featured the beheadings of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, who were held in captivity nearly a year while working freelance before being killed because of U.S. airstrikes against the group.

Earlier this year, ISIS fighters raided the Sinjar Mountains where the Yazidi people have taken refuge for thousands of years of religious practice, in its crusade to "purify" Iraq and neighboring non-Islamic nations. While some did escape, many died of heat stroke and dehydration before they could be liberated. Many women and children who could not flee were taken from their ancestral homelands captured by ISIS jihadists.

BuzzFeed reports that in a recent issue of Dabiq, the ISIS propaganda online magazine, an article circulated advocating that "according to Sharia law," those apprehended by ISIS should be distributed among the jihadist fighters. In the video, it appears that some of the fighters are confused about what Islamic law actually allows.

According to Al Aan TV's English translation, an unnamed man in the video repeatedly declares that he wants "as many as possible," tries to buy "shares" of the girls from fellow fighters, with each woman worth approximately $300. Women with blue eyes and those with gold teeth are worth more.

"Today is the slave market day. Today is the day where this applies: 'Except with their wives and their (captives) whom their right hands possess, -for (then) they are not to be blamed.' Today is distribution day, God willing. Each one takes his share," one man said cheerfully.

While many Islamic scholars have condemned ISIS for its principals, since their seizure months ago, stories have leaked across the internet about Yazidi girls and women forced to wed ISIS rebels and convert to Islam.

"Whoever wants to sell his own slave, I buy her," another man said.
