Chiquis Rivera stepped onto the stage at the Premios De La Radio on Thursday and became one of the most talked about parts of the show.

The singer, who was debuting her new song, "La Malquerida," enjoyed herself during her performance, and perhaps it was because she was channeling her mother, Jenni Rivera.

To get ready for a performance or an appearance, Chiquis has a routine.

"I light a candle," she said. "I really believe in angels and my guides, which is obviously my mom, obviously."

Chiquis said she also believes in God and prays.

For the awards, Chiquis also wore one of Jenni's rings, and she said she always brings something that belonged to her mom so that she can remember her.

The aspiring singer also opened up about her sister, Jacqui Marin, who sang at the award show in honor of their mother. Chiquis explained that Jacqui hadn't released her album yet because she had a baby, but she thinks it will be coming very soon.

"She wanted to take some time for her babies, her girls, but yes, I think it's coming out soon," Chiquis said.

She also recently opened up about why she has not gotten along with her uncle Lupillo Rivera in the last few years.

Chiquis explained that when it was reported that her mother had been in plane crash, she asked her uncles to go look for her at the crash site. While two of her uncles did go, Lupillo did not.

She said that instead of going, Lupillo was at a studio recording "Yo Te Extrañare," an action which hurt her and her siblings.

And though she believes the two need to get together to talk, Chiquis said that she is focusing on improving as a singer.

"People say that it's really easy for her because she is Jenni Rivera's daughter, but for me, it's the opposite because my mom was No. 1," she said. "I want to to be an extension of my mom's legacy."
