Santino Marella kicked off Friday Night Smackdown revealing that he would be the Smackdown General Manager for the night while plugging the new movie "Jingle All the Way 2."

The night's action started off with Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper defending his title against former champion Dolph Ziggler, in a rematch from last week's Smackdown main event. Harper got himself disqualified this week, as opposed to getting counted out as he did last week, by hitting his challenger with a low-blow to earn the DQ. The dirty move gave Ziggler the win, but denied him the opportunity to become the new champion. Harper attempted to Powerbomb "The Show-off" onto a ladder he brought into the ring after the match, only to have Ziggler reverse the move and nail Harper with a Facebuster onto the ladder. After Harper retreated, Santino ordered that Harper face Ziggler at TLC in a Ladder match for the Intercontinental title.

Seth Rollins came out to the ring with Kane, Big Show and J&J Security to talk about their upcoming matches at TLC. Rollins bragged about putting John Cena through a table on Monday Night Raw while Big Show said he is looking forward to his Stairs match against Erick Rowan. Kane snatched the mic from Big Show and said that he plans to bury Ryback in their Chairs match. Santino came out to the ring and scheduled Ryback and Rowan in a tag team match against The Big Show and Rollins in the main event for Smackdown.

Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston of The New Day defeated Tyson Kidd and Cesaro in a tag team bout. After the match, Goldust and Stardust appeared on TitonTron and yet again promised to bring darkness to The New Day.

Naomi was shown hanging out backstage smelling flowers that were given to her by an admirer. Jimmy Uso showed up and informed her that he did not send her those flowers. Naomi read the card that came with flowers, which said, "Apologies from Miz." Uso got angry that the Miz sent the flowers and shattered the vase on the floor.

United States Champion Rusev was scheduled to face Dean Ambrose, who was waiting in the ring for his opponent when Lana came out and said the champ would not compete due to "American intimidation." Lana said that Rusev is still angry about Jack Swagger's attack on him on Raw and that he planned to stomp on every one of his bones just like he did to Zeb Colter on Raw. Ambrose said he did not come to the ring to talk but to fight and ran up the ramp only to get intercepted by Bray Wyatt. Wyatt and Ambrose, who will face each other in a TLC match at the pay-per-view, attempted to beat each other down throughout the venue, but Wyatt gained the upper-hand and smashed a chair across his throat. Wyatt then smashed Ambrose with a chair against the steps before "The Lunatic Fringe" was stretchered out of the arena.

The Miz came out to the ring, scheduled to face Jey Uso, and got on the mic prior to his match saying he does not understand why Jimmy Uso was so upset about him wanting help with Naomi's career. The Usos came running out of the ring as The Miz taunted Jimmy, forcing the referee to bar Jimmy from ringside for the match. The Miz then proceeded to beat Jey Uso in singles competition after Jey went after The Miz's stunt-double -- Damien Sandow, allowing for "The A-Lister" to nail Jey with a Skull Crushing Finale for the victory.

Brie Bella lost to Naomi after WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella attempted to interfere in the bout, only to have AJ Lee -- who was doing commentary -- knock the champ off the apron, allowing for Naomi to roll Brie up in a School Boy pin for the victory.

Ryback and Erick Rowan defeated Seth Rollins and The Big Show in the main event. The referee banned Kane from ringside when he attempted to interfere in the bout on behalf of Rollins and Big Show. Ryback earned the pin after Rowan kicked the Big Show while "The Big Guy" hit Rollins with the Shell Shock to get the pin to end the show with the win.
