As his meteoric rise continues among American audiences because of an upcoming role as Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey," Jamie Dornan has given another interview -- this time with British GQ, in which he opens up more about his role in the movie and his opinions on other things.

In the interview, set to appear in the magazine's February issue, Dornan, 32, talks about bondage, doing sex scenes and as well as his life.

He also talks about his character, the dominant Christian Grey, talking about the research he did at a sex dungeon. He recalls the event as "very playful and jovial and not at all dark and serious. There was a lot of laughter..."

"I can tell you from an alarmingly first-hand perspective it's not altogether sexy," he adds.

Particularly interesting is how he demystifies sex scenes. Something very tantalizing and erotic on screen is not very intimate in person, but adds that one's private parts are safely put away during the scene.

"Your dignity is intact as much as it's all tucked away in a little flesh-colored bag... As a guy you put all your essentials in a little bag and you tie it up like a little bag of grapes and it's tucked away. Its quite a peculiar thing to do every day," he said.

Dornan then talked about how he does not understand why people think bondage or S&M is violent or weird. He said men tend to be more submissive and it is consensual.

"There's weirder s**t than that. I think plane spotting is far weirder than S&M. That I really don't get. I can understand why people are into S&M, but standing outside Heathrow Terminal 5 waiting for Ryanair to come in?" he joked.

Despite joking about the film and what some think about it or its content, Dornan's fame has continued to rise in the U.S. The actor has become a role model for some, including ruby player-turned-actor Thom Evans.

"Jamie Dornan as a role model. He's flourishing in the acting world, and if I could do half as well as he has I'd be more than happy!" he told Attitude magazine, according to Just Jared.

"I would love the opportunity to take on any role. I actually went up for Jamie's role of Christian Grey. The audition was pretty tame to be honest, but it was a great experience for me," he said, adding that Dornan is perfect for the role.
