The 2016 Republican presidential election will be pretty interesting, especially now that Sarah Palin has confessed she is "seriously interested" in making another bid for the White House.

On Friday, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee revealed she is keeping her options open about jumping into the 2016 race.

"Without putting any words in my mouth, you can absolutely say that I'm seriously interested," Palin said ahead of the "Iowa Freedom Summit," hosted by Republican Rep. Steve King and Citizens United, according to Politico.

"It's a significant step, of course, for anyone to publicly announce that they're interested. ... Who wouldn't be interested? Who wouldn't be interested when they have been blessed with an opportunity to speak about [issues important to the country.] Who would just ignore an opportunity?"

The former Alaska governor first revealed she may potentially compete for the Republican presidential nomination on Thursday, when she said "of course" she might run in 2016 during an interview with ABC News.

She then stood by comments when talking to reporters the following day.

"As I said yesterday, I'm really interested in the opportunity to serve at some point," she said, reports the Washington Post.

However, the Fox News commentator made it clear she's in no rush to make a final decision on whether or not she will run to be the first female president of the United States.

Palin also talked about making a presidential run just before the 2012 election cycle. However, she decided not to enter the race.

According to Politico, most Republican insiders doubt Palin will actually make it legitimate this time around, too.

Regardless, it seems safe to say she will continue to be an outspoken voice in her party.

On Thursday, she encouraged Republicans to stand up to President Obama's agenda, saying, "That GOP leadership, that establishment, they've got to get their stuff together. I love what they believe in, I believe in it too. But they've got to get tough, man. You know what? It's not just the New England Patriots who are dealing with deflated balls right now," she told The Blaze.
