Maria Antonieta de las Nieves, who is better known as her "El Chavo del Ocho" character La Chilindrina, has spoken out against Profesor Jirafales actor Ruben Aguirre.

Last week Aguirre said he didn't believe Nieves had any legal right to fight for the name La Chilindrina, and he also denied many of the previous comments made by the actress about Chespiritos's widow, Florinda Meza. Now, La Chilindrina is defending herself in a new interview with "El Gordo y La Flaca."

"It bothers me that the truth wasn't told as it happened," she said. "If that's his truth, then good for him. But that's not how things happened."

La Chilindrina also says that she owns that character, even though Aguirre said it was created by Chespirito.

"That character is mine because I invented her dress, her glasses, her freckles, the missing tooth," she said.

La Chilindrina further explained that Chespirito saw her character and said that when he did a show for children, he wanted that character on it. She emphasized that the character existed before "El Chavo del Ocho" started.

"Maybe [the character] had another name, but it existed," she said.

La Chilindrina was also bothered that Aguirre criticized her for getting plastic surgery so she could maintain a youthful appearance to play La Chilindrina, who is a child.

"If he let himself get old, well that's on him," she said. "Either way, he shouldn't compare himself to Kiko or to me, because he's 15 years older than me. I don't know how much older he is than Kiko."

The 64-year-old actress added that she feels she can still portray La Chilindrina, but when she feels her body can't handle it, then she'll leave it behind.

After Chespirito died in November, La Chilindrina also spoke out about Meza, and this was something Aguirre was not happy about.

"To take the character, to steal, I'll forgive that," he said. "But to speak stupidities about Florinda, about Roberto, that I don't forgive."
