"The Sims 4," the latest installment of Electronic Arts' successful life-simulation series, has been a huge success since its release on Sept. 2, 2014.

And the seemingly infinite number of cheats the game's developers included certainly contributes to the fun for many players. The secret commands let you cut a few corners to make your Sims happier and your virtual life more entertaining.

If you are short of a few thousand Simoleons to build the mansion of your dreams, for example, there is a solution: Just open a text box by holding down the "Shift," "Ctrl" and "C" keys at the same time; type in "rosebud" or "kaching"; and watch how 1,000 units are added to your virtual account. And, as our friends at Cheat Code Central point out, you could even opt for "motherlode" -- a nifty little command that will make you a whopping 50,000 Simoleons richer.

As it turns out, however, not all "Sims 4" cheats are this useful. As a matter of fact, there are quite a few commands that are downright bizarre and morbid -- but nonetheless quite entertaining. For most of these "advanced" cheats, you need to activate the so-called "Testing Mode" by typing "testingcheats true" into the text box every time you travel, enter the "Create a Sim" mode, reload the game, manage households or cause a loading screen to appear.

That said, take a look at some of our favorite "unusual" cheats:

  • Your children aren't doing their chores, and the dirty dishes are piling up in the kitchen? Just designate one of the kids as a maid. The command "sims.add_buff buff_role_serviceNPC_maid" will do the trick. (And once you've taught your little one a lesson, you can deactive the spell with "sims.remove_buff buff_role_serviceNPC_maid.")

  • Looking to expand the family without going through nine hard months of pregnancy? With "sims.add_buff pregnancy_inlabor" your Sim will be ready to give birth instantly. To make that happen, however, you will need to purchase a bassinet.

  • Feeling a little ashamed about all the cheating you have been doing? If you want to take the extreme route, consider "sims.add_buff buff_mortified" -- this command will cause your Sim to die from embarrassment within five hours. It's quite literal, so use it with caution.

And as you return to "The Sims 4," just remember to type in the commands without any final commas, periods or quotation marks.
