Hardcore gamers are already lining up for the much-anticipated Xbox One release tonight at midnight.

The November 22 release date marks a new era in gaming after the Xbox 360 spent eight years bringing the best of entertainment to living rooms around the world.

The biggest difference with this release is that the improvements are not as much based on the graphics display but rather the external features of the game console. A CNN article on Thursday morning even dubbed the new game console "A $499 PC for your living room," referring to how Microsoft broadened the scope of gaming beyond just the regular gameplay.

"Today we invite millions of Xbox fans around the world to join us for the launch of Xbox One, as we count down the final hours to the launch of Xbox One," said Yusuf Mehdi, who serves as the corporate vice president of marketing and strategy.

Where to Find the Xbox One?

Microsoft will bring their launch parties to the center of the attention as New York City's Times Square will feature a special release date event. The first 1,000 people to purchase the game console after standing in line will have first dibs at attending a Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performance at the Best Buy Theater.

Los Angeles will also have a launch party as deadmau5 and 7Wallace will be performing to celebrate the countdown. The first 500 gamers to purchase the game console will have the chance to attend the performance.

Otherwise, the game console is mostly sold out - both in stores and online. Sony sold more than 1 million Playstation 4 consoles in the first 24 hours after it was released and Microsoft is hoping to do even better.
