On Monday, March 9, "The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison announced a shocking twist to be featured on the upcoming season of "The Bachelorette."

At the end of "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose," Harrison announced that the upcoming season of "The Bachelorette" would feature two women instead of one, Time reports.

The new season of "The Bachelorette" will feature "The Bachelor" contestants Britt and Kaitlyn.

Harrison explained that because producers and viewers were divided on who should be chosen, they decided to go with both women since they each are fan favorites.

However, "The Bachelor" producers later released a press release stating that the show would eventually eliminate one of the women during filming and leave the other woman to find love among her male contestants.

"The Bachelorette," will kick off its 11th season with the charming, charismatic beauty Britt, who captivated Chris Soules and the rest of Bachelor Nation with a memorable hug on that first night at the Bachelor mansion, and Kaitlyn, the gorgeous, fun-loving, warm-hearted, but irreverent firecracker who let down her guard only to have her heart crushed. Who will the men prefer? Eventually, only one woman will be left to hand out the final rose," reads the press release obtained by Time.

Time reports that "The Bachelor" producers previously attempted the two-person season format with contestants Byron Velvick and Jay Overbye, but it didn't end well.

And while it seems that "The Bachelor" producers are optimistic about trying this new format again, "The Bachelor" viewers aren't as excited.

Us Weekly reports that "The Bachelor" viewers have slammed the producers' decision via Twitter and are rooting for only Kaitlyn to appear on the show.
