Daddy Yankee has been ordered to give up some serious "Gasolina" money after a concert promoter sued him. A judged ordered the reggaeton star to pay $6,000,000 to a promoter who says, "his eyes bled" after Daddy Yankee bailed out of a major concert tour.

This amount also included accusations saying that the Puerto Rican artist allegedly fabricated defamatory statements against the promoter.  He claimed that Daddy Yankee used his stardom and power on social media to post negative things about him. He sued Daddy Yankee for $820,000 that he paid up front, also for "pain, embarrassment and stress"; the total in damages was $6,000,000. Daddy Yankee decided to publicize his opinion on the verdict against him and also clear his name.

The statement was released in Spanish saying: "In the first place, I am a man of law and order, and I respect the decision of the jury, even though I completely disagree. This is a robbery and this is a fight of 12 robberies where I trust in the Almighty [God] and that justice and the truth will prevail. In second place, I have always been very responsible with my postings through social media because I know the impact that they will have on the entire world. Is for that reason that all of my public postings and press conferences are evaluated by my communications team lead by Nevarez Communications. None of the alleged defamatory postings were made by me and certainly not by my communications team. Finally, this verdict and sentence is not final and my lawyers have received instructions to continue litigating until the last consequences".

You always wonder who is really telling the truth. Daddy Yankee seems like a pretty easygoing guy, hope everything is resolved fairly. Good luck to him and his team. Keep making great "rumbas" Daddy Yankee.

Who do you think is telling the truth? Is this promoter just trying to make some easy cash?
