Since 2010, Kyle Lambert has been using his iPad to paint portraits of celebrities. But in 2013, his skill became so refined that he painted a portrait of Morgan Freeman that was so realistic, it looked like a photograph...and the "making of" video went viral!

Kyle, an artist based in Cheshire, England, painted his portrait of Freeman from a photo originally taken by Scott Gries. He uses an app called Procreate to make the life-like portraits.

"It captures every brush stroke automatically and you can export it to the camera roll," Lambert told The Daily Mail. "It has the best canvas size and and video export. It's the most like Photoshop."

According to E! News, the three-minute video about the making of "the world's most realistic finger-painting" was viewed 1.3 million times in 24 hours. That number has since risen to more than 2.5 million.

Lambert has also painted portraits of Beyonce, Rihanna, Jennifer Aniston, and David Beckham.

Some people have argued that the app (Procreate) allows people to import photos and export them as paintings, so the legitimacy of Lambert's paintings (and the video of the process) has been called into question. However, Lambert's other portraits are all very realistic, so it lends some creedence to the claims.

"I've found with past videos people are more engaged when the subject is familiar to them," Lambert said. "I think I must have been watching the movie Oblivion when the idea of Morgan Freeman came to mind."
